Why Continuing Education Courses Usually Fall Short

(And why this course is different)
×

Traditional CE Courses

  • Generic boundary law lectures that never leave the classroom.
  • Endless explanations of doctrines with no connection to real fence line disputes.
  • Check-the-box quizzes that don’t resemble what happens in the field.
  • Little discussion of the moments when two neighbors are staring at you across the fence.

Survey Life CE CoursesNEW

  • Narrative-driven lessons based on real fence line disputes surveyors face in the field.
  • Real stakes. Hear the tension when a survey shows the corner four feet beyond a forty-year-old fence.
  • Stand between neighbors who both believe they are right—and learn how professionals handle it.
  • Sharpen your judgment by studying the boundary battles that ended up in court.

COURSE OVERVIEW

Fence Lines and Boundary Battles - Up Close

The fence says one thing. The deed says another. This course doesn't just explain boundary law, it puts you in the middle of the dispute. From the neighbor who's been mowing the same strip of ground for forty years to the surveyor called to testify about a line that was never really agreed upon, these are the cases where good surveying and good judgment collide.

You'll work through real boundary battles, the conflicts of interest, the client pressure to call it the way they want it called, and the moments when a surveyor had to decide what kind of professional they were going to be. Some made the right call. Some didn't. You'll hear what happened to both.

"You're not just getting your CE credits - you're investing in professional development that will actually make you a better surveyor." – Dan Provolt, PLS

40 Years of Survey Investigation in Your Earbuds

In the process of researching, gathering stories, and crafting a better way for all of us as surveyors to learn, I discovered a wealth of knowledge out there, just waiting to be heard. These lessons draw not only from my own forty years in the field, but from the shared experiences of countless surveyors.

As I assembled these narratives, I revisited my own past mistakes, near misses, small triumphs, and moments of clarity. But more importantly, I recognized how many of the challenges we face, boundary puzzles, legal conflicts, ethical dilemmas, and split-second field decisions, are universal across our profession.

You're not just buying CE credits. You're investing in professional development that will actually make you a better surveyor.
